What does a quality furnace installation include?

It starts with a Manual J load calculation to size the furnace to the home, then covers a ductwork check and sealing, correct venting and condensate drainage, a permitted and inspected install, and commissioning to verify gas pressure and airflow. One Hour Ogden handles each step and backs the work with a written guarantee. Call (801) 829-7633 for a consultation.

Do I need a permit to install a furnace in Ogden?

Yes. Furnace installation in Utah generally requires a mechanical permit and inspection, and the contractor should hold a Utah Specialty Contractor License, classification S350, verifiable through the Utah DOPL license lookup. A licensed contractor pulls the permit as part of the job, so the work is inspected to code and on the record for the home.

Does the contractor matter more than the furnace brand?

In practice, yes. Correct sizing, sound ductwork, proper venting, careful commissioning, and a permitted install determine whether the furnace performs, and all of those come from the installer rather than the label. A furnace installed by certified technicians and backed by a satisfaction guarantee is a different result than the same unit installed by the lowest bid.
